JEM Sheet Metals and Van Driel Engineering are well-established fabrication and engineering businesses with over 40 years of history each and a strong reputation for delivering high-quality work. JEM specialises in laser cutting and sheet metal parts, while Van Driel Engineering focuses on fabrication and wider engineering projects.
Both businesses have historically grown through reputation, repeat customers and word of mouth alone, which has allowed them to stand the test of time. Now, under new management, the focus is on building on that foundation and taking a more proactive approach to growth.
We are actively seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to build a consistent pipeline of work for JEM, which presents significant untapped potential.

You will be working with two well-established engineering businesses, each with over 40 years of trading history and strong reputations for quality and delivery. The group generates consistent revenue through long-standing customer relationships and repeat work, providing a solid and reliable operational foundation with experienced teams and proven capability.
The commission structure is tiered, uncapped and designed to reward results from day one. Unlike many roles, you earn from the outset rather than waiting for large orders, meaning early activity is recognised and rewarded.
The commission structure allows you to build recurring income through repeat business and long-term customer relationships. You are not just paid once for winning an account, you benefit as that customer continues to place orders, allowing your earnings to grow over time.
You will have access to an established customer base built over 40+ years, providing immediate opportunities to generate work and develop existing relationships. At the same time, the role is not restricted to supplied leads, giving you the freedom to build your own pipeline and develop new opportunities.
This role offers genuine freedom and flexibility, with a focus on outcomes rather than process. You will have full autonomy to manage your own time, approach and pipeline, without micromanagement, allowing you to operate in the way that suits you best.
Engineering and manufacturing businesses that outsource laser cutting, sheet metal and fabrication work, including general engineering companies requiring components and assemblies, construction and infrastructure sector businesses, and industrial manufacturing operations.
The focus is on developing long-term relationships with customers who require repeat work, ongoing production and reliable supply, rather than one-off jobs. Ideal customers are businesses where we can become a trusted supplier as part of their supply chain.
You will be an experienced Business Development Manager with a background in engineering, fabrication or manufacturing, who understands how to generate repeat work and build long-term customer relationships.
You are practical, commercially aware and self-motivated, with the ability to open doors and convert opportunities into ongoing business within industrial sectors.
