Our core product is a complete RCI/LMI safety system for cranes and lifting equipment, excluding tower cranes. The system monitors load, angle, and radius in real time and alerts the operator before the rated capacity is exceeded. It is supplied as a ready-to-install kit, fully wired and pre-configured.
Deal size is £2,100 to £2,500 per unit. Recommended resale price is £3,900, giving the end customer and installer strong margin.
The Potentum RCI/LMI system is a fully wired, ready-to-install rated capacity indicator for cranes and lifting equipment. Unlike generic alternatives, it ships pre-configured and requires no specialist programming on site. It is already deployed across multiple markets and reference installations are available. RCI compliance is a safety requirement in the UK lifting sector, which means the product sells into a genuine, ongoing need rather than a discretionary budget.
Commission is £500 per unit for the first 10 sales, stepping to £400 per unit thereafter. At an average of one sale per month, an agent can expect £6,000 in the first year from commission alone. There is no ceiling. Mileage is reimbursed at the HMRC standard rate for confirmed client visits, keeping out-of-pocket costs low.
Full product training is provided by the principal at the start of the relationship, covering product features, compliance context, installation overview, and objection handling. Sales materials including a professional product brochure are supplied. The principal is directly contactable for technical questions during the sales process.
The commission structure already rewards early performance, with £500 per unit on the first 10 sales. This elevated rate acts as a built-in first-sale incentive and remains in place until 10 units have been sold.
Agents are supplied with a professionally produced product brochure, reference installation information, and access to the principal for technical support during client meetings. LinkedIn and digital marketing activity supports brand awareness in the target sector.
This is a fully self-employed, commission-only role with no fixed hours, no territory restrictions, and no reporting requirements beyond pipeline updates. Agents work this opportunity alongside existing product lines. There is no exclusivity obligation on either side at the start, allowing the agent to assess fit before committing further.
The target market is companies that own, operate, service, or install cranes and lifting equipment in the UK.
This includes lorry-mounted crane operators and fleet owners, HGV bodybuilders and truck equipment specialists, crane service and maintenance companies, and plant hire and lifting equipment dealers. The end customer is typically a transport, construction, utilities, or logistics company with one or more lorry-mounted cranes in operation. RCI/LMI systems are a safety and operational requirement in this sector, which means demand is consistent and not discretionary.
We are looking for self-employed sales agents who already have contacts in the crane, lifting equipment, or commercial vehicle sector. The ideal candidate has previously sold into fleet operators, crane service companies, HGV bodybuilders, or similar businesses, and understands the buying process in this market.
This opportunity is attractive because the product addresses a genuine compliance need, shortening the sales cycle. There is no installation requirement for the agent. Commission is £500 per unit for the first 10 sales, then £400 per unit, with mileage expenses covered at HMRC standard rate.
The product is supplied ready to install, making it straightforward to demonstrate and sell.
