GR Fine Foods has been in operation for 30 years and 6 of those years under the current owners. We sell a selection of ambient and chilled food and drink items to independent retailers such as Farm Shops and Delicatessens in the SW of England.
We are a small and friendly company with the two owners (myself and my wife) taking care of operations and administration respectively; and two part time drivers. We have a warehouse located near Kingsbridge in South Devon and an electric Ford Transit for deliveries.
Our products range from commodity-type goods through to high end items, sourced locally, nationally and overseas. We have special relationships with some of our local producers and we have de facto exclusivity on some of the items that we import.
Our vision is to become a dominant distributor of real and healthy food to independent retailers and other outlets in the south west, at the same time setting an example in terms of ethical dealing and environmental responsibility. By providing tasty and attractive products we want to help independent retailers gain more market share and please more and more customers.

A good proportion of our products have either USPs and/or a degree of exclusivity.
Commission will be paid for recurring sales for three years from the date of the first sale, although the commission rate will taper down in the second and third years.
We will provide leads to new accounts as well as advice on which products might best suit those accounts. We will also provide lists of accounts whom we no longer serve but who we consider might be brought back. We will also advise which accounts we currently serve and maintain and which do not need to be approached.
In most cases we will encourage dialogue between the producer, ourselves and our representative to gain the best understanding of the uses and strengths of the products. This will include recipes and anecdotes as well as personal experiences. We will provide flyers and POS materials where available.
We are only looking for one sales agent and we will define the area with him or her.
The representative manages his/her own time and schedule. We would ask for a periodic report of visits made, people met and products discussed.

We are looking to expand into Cornwall, North Devon, Somerset and Dorset.

We are looking for a representative based in the South West and with good knowledge of the region and preferably with expertise in independent retail. The successful candidate would open, develop and maintain new accounts or re-open old accounts. Maintenance of existing accounts would still be carried out by ourselves.
We would support the candidate by providing as much background knowledge surrounding the products as possible, including opportunities to meet the producers. The candidate would be provided with as many samples as he might need.
The ideal candidate will be a person who finds joy in great food and loves to cook! It is a good opportunity to work as part of a small team with plenty of potential customers to approach and some unique products to sell, using personal charm and a love of real food.
